Privacy Policy
Effective August 19, 2026 · Video Terminal is operated by Peer Through (“we”, “us”).
Video Terminal is a video editing application (desktop app and the web services at
videoterminal.app) that helps creators edit and publish video. This policy describes what
information we handle and how.
Information we collect
- Account and contact information. If you sign up for early access, request a
review link, or contact us, we store the email address and name you provide.
- Content you bring. Videos, audio, transcripts, captions, thumbnails, and
project files you create or upload in order to edit, review, or publish them. In the
desktop app this content stays on your own computer unless you choose to publish or
share it.
- Connected social accounts. If you connect a platform account (for example
YouTube, Instagram, or TikTok) to publish your videos, we receive the access tokens
and basic profile information (such as your username and account id) that the platform
grants. The desktop app stores these tokens encrypted on your own device. We use them
only to perform the actions you request — such as uploading a video you made or reading
its performance metrics — and never to read private messages or act without your
instruction.
- Usage and technical data. Standard server logs (IP address, request time,
user agent) for the web services, used for security and reliability.
How we use information
- To provide the product: editing, rendering, review pages, and publishing to the
platforms you connect.
- To operate and secure our services and to fix problems.
- To respond when you contact us.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your
content or your connected-account data for advertising.
Sharing
- Platforms you connect. When you publish, your video, caption, and cover are
transmitted to that platform under your instruction and its own terms.
- Service providers. We use infrastructure vendors (for example cloud hosting,
object storage, and media processing) to run the product. They process data on our
behalf and are not permitted to use it otherwise.
- Legal. We may disclose information if required by law.
Retention and deletion
Project content on your own computer is yours and under your control. Content you upload
to our services is kept while your account or review link is active and deleted on request.
You can disconnect a social account at any time — in the app, or by revoking access in the
platform's own security settings — which invalidates the stored tokens. To request deletion
of any data we hold, email us at the address below.
Children
Video Terminal is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect
their information.
Changes
We will post any changes to this policy on this page with an updated effective date.
